On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, Justin Thomas shot a final-round 68 to claim a one-shot victory over Lee Westwood at The PLAYERS Championship.
The 27-year old Thomas produced seven pars and a bogey on his first eight holes, but then reeled off three birdies and an eagle on Nos. 9-12 to settle in at 14-under par.
The win was the former University of Alabama star’s 14th career PGA Tour title, and first of the 2021 Tour season.
Along with The PLAYERS trophy, the Kentucky native earned $2,700,000 and 600 FedExCup points. He also secured 80 first-place OWGR points to jump from No. 3 to 2nd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
