Bubba Watson shot a final-round 2-under 69 on Sunday to capture his third Genesis Open trophy, and first title since winning at Riviera two years ago.
Watson offset three bogeys with five birdies – none bigger than a hole-out bunker shot on the par-3 14th hole.
Facing a potential bogey late on Sunday, Watson’s sand shot came out hot, but hit the stick and fell in for the birdie. After the ball disappeared, Watson clenched his fist, pointed to his caddie Ted Scott and said, “You called it.”
Watson never looked back.
The 39-year old finished his four days in Pacific Palisades at 12-under par 207, two shots clear of Tony Finau and Kevin Na.
