It's Monday morning, and the start of U.S Open week. Here are 10 great golf stories to kick off your day.

Lexi Thompson shot a 4-under 68 on Saturday and will take a three-shot lead into the final round of the CME Group Tour Championship

The 23-year old American star finished her third day at Tiburon Golf Club with one bogey against five birdies, highlighted by four back-nine gains on Nos. 10, 11, 15 and 16 en route to a record-setting three-day score of 16-under par.

“Have to focus on our own game and not really focus on the competitors,” said Thompson, who is looking for her first win of 2018.

“All we can do is control our game, our attitudes, and whatever happens, happens.

“I really just try not to look at leaderboards and just try to shoot the lowest round I can.”

Alone in second-place was another American in Nelly Korda, who shot a low-round 67 to reach 13 under, three clear of Spain’s Carlota Ciganda (69).

Defending CME champion Ariya Jutanugarn was T12 at 6 under following a third-day 69. The Thai star continues to lead the Race to the CME Globe.
