His third birdie of the day was nearly a hole-in-one as he hit a 6-iron to 8 inches on the 188-yard 16th (see video below).
“It was fun, it was fun to compete again. It was fun to be out there. We had a great pairing today. Pat played great, Charley was solid all day and I was probably a little bit rusty,” said Woods.
At last year’s Farmers Insurance Open, Woods carded rounds of 76-72 and missed the cut. It was his only official start of the 2016-2017 season.
The seven-time FIO winner has failed to break par in his last four rounds at this tournament.
