On social media, Titleist announced that the new TS4 will be rolled out this week on the PGA Tour at the Valero Texas Open, and will then be made available to the public a couple of months later – sometime in June.

Well, this sent Titleist TS2 and TS3 players into a tizzy, with many complaining that they wouldn’t have purchased the TS2-3 if they’d known it’d be old in less than a year.

A sampling of the comments:

Matt: “So much for the 2 year cycle. Pretty disappointing.”

Lac: “I just bought the TS3 ?”

Humphrey: “WTF and I just got the TS3…”

Jamie: “Seems only yesterday the TS2-3 came out ?”

However, as one commenter noted, the TS4 is an addition to the TS lineup, not a replacement. It’s the TS family’s low-spin solution that still produces exceptional ball speed.

Mills: “Everyone in the comments is complaining about them just buying the TS2 or TS3 when I don’t think they understand the technology behind this driver. If you were fit into a TS2, then a lower spinning driver than a TS3 is not for you I can promise you that. Spin rates with the 915 D4 (same thing as TS4) would top out at 2k RPMs with most people who were fit correctly. None of you are being ripped off.”

Note: Instagram names changed to protect privacy

Per Titleist: “If you want to hit it longer but are having trouble controlling spin off the tee, TS4 was made for you.”
