Matthew Jordan came out of nowhere on Thursday to post a tournament-low 63 at Hillside Golf Club. The British Masters’ surprise first-round leader wasn’t quite as good during Friday’s round two (72), but on Saturday he showed his skill with this approach shot on the par-4 third hole.
It was one of two birdies on the day for Jordan, who added an eagle on the par-5 17th to go along with three bogeys and a double to finish at 1-over 73.
The 23-year old Englishman was 9-under par for the tournament, and will be part of Sunday’s chasing pack – five off the pace of countryman Matt Wallace.
