Vincent Norrman closed with a 66 at Keen Trace, and then edged Nathan Kimsey in a playoff to claim his maiden PGA Tour title at the Barbasol Championship.

“I don’t think I can process this for a while. I’m lost for words,” said Norrman.

The 25-year-old Swede, a rookie who played one year at Florida State after four years at Georgia Southwestern, was making just his 23rd career start. Norrman finished on 22-under 266.

Asked how he’s going to celebrate his first tour win, Norrman said, “My girlfriend just surprised me after the 72nd hole and we’re going to — her brother’s here as well, I roomed with him all week. Going to bring them out, take my caddie out for a nice dinner and yeah, that’s it for now.”

Norrman’s girlfriend is LPGA Tour player Frida Kinhult, who’s also from Sweden and attended Florida State. After finishing T36 at the Dana Open in northern Ohio, Kinhult traveled 300 miles south (destination: Nicholasville, Kentucky) to surprise Norrman on the green.

Marcus Kinhult, the older brother of Norrman’s girlfriend and Norrman’s roommate for the week, posted a 69 to finish tied for 14th.
