During the second round of the Scottish Open, Justin Thomas thought he was about to hit his father Mike with his approach shot on the par-5 10th hole – his first of the day.

“Oh, I’m going to hit my Dad with my second shot of the day,” said Thomas as the ball was in the air.

“Fore!!!

“Look. I drilled him right in the chair.”

After realizing it was a close call and not direct hit, he said, “It looked like it was going to hit him the whole time.”

Thomas went on to birdie the hole, one of five gains on the day against three dropped shots en route to a 69. As of this post, JT was tied for seventh-place on 8-under par, three back of Jon Rahm and Thomas Detry.
