Playing the North Course at Torrey Pines, Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler show us how it’s done on the 393-yard 16th hole in the opening round of the Farmers Insurance Open.
First Fowler goes and sticks his approach shot to within inches. Phil follows, and, while not as close as Rickie, still does some serious dialing – leaving himself with a tap-in birdie.
The birdie was one of five on the day for Mickelson, who also carded 4 bogeys to finish at 1-under for the round. Fowler was more consistent (2 birdies, 2 bogeys, 14 pars) but no better scoring-wise, as the world #14 ended his round at dead even-par.
