Mickelson’s Epic Shot: Like He “Dropped It Out Of His Pocket”

Phil Mickelson is a fan favorite on Tour, and it’s because of shots like this one in the opening round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

A wayward tee shot on the par-3 8th hole at the North Course forced Phil to play his second shot out of some downhill rough, and to a green that runs away.

But the 5-time major champion absolutely nails it with a 64-degree wedge shot – landing his Callaway golf ball so perfectly it was as if he “dropped it out of his pocket,” said an amazed Nick Faldo.

Mickelson would go on to tap it in to save par, and finish his round at 1-under par.
