During a practice round at the iconic par-3 eighth at Royal Troon, Rory McIlroy took a whopping 6 shots to get out of a greenside bunker.

The Postage Stamp bunkers claim another victim. The small green and deep bunkers are difficult enough, but as you can see, the first few feet out of this bunker slopes back down making it nearly impossible to get the ball to stay if it’s hit short.

In his press conference following the practice round McIlroy said he likely “took a 8, or a 9, so that didn’t go too well” when referring to one of The Open Championship’s hardest holes.
