J.B. Holmes shot a 1-under 70 on Sunday but it was good enough to capture his fifth PGA Tour title at the Genesis Open.
Justin Thomas entered the final round at Riviera Country Club with a four-shot lead and extended it to five after a birdie on No. 1. But after that it was mostly downhill for the world No. 4 golfer, who finished with five bogeys and a double to go along with three birdies en route to a 4-over 75.
Holmes, meanwhile, finished with three birdies against two bogeys, finishing with a four-round score of 14-under par.
The victory was Holmes’ 5th career PGA Tour title, and first since the 2015 Houston Open.
