When storms and darkness suspended play on Sunday evening amid the final round of the RBC Heritage, Scottie Scheffler held a five-shot lead with three holes to play.

When the world No. 1 finished his final three holes at Harbour Town Golf Links on Monday morning, the Texan once again found himself hoisting a PGA Tour trophy.

Scheffler finished 19-under 265, three clear of Sahith Theegala (68).

In his last five PGA Tour starts, the 27-year-old owns a solo runner-up alongside four wins, including the Players, the Masters, and two elevated events: the Arnold Palmer and the Heritage. To repeat, in just a five-start span, Schaffler has claimed elite-field victories at four iconic venues: Bay Hill, TPC Sawgrass, Augusta National and Harbour Town – a dominant run not seen since peak Tiger Woods.

Scheffler said the streak has taken an emotional and physical toll.

“Coming off the high last week to going into here, not really with a ton of energy, not really with a ton of prep work,” said Scheffler, who will not tee it up again until the PGA Championship at Valhalla, May 16-19.

“I think it’s underrated how difficult it is to do the stuff that Tiger was doing and win like every single week. It takes a lot out of you emotionally and physically, especially major championships.”

Theegala made birdie on No. 16, then finished par-par to post solo second on 16 under. The gain on No. 16 for Theegala wound up being worth $666,667 as it was the difference between solo second ($2.16m) and a three-way tie for second ($1.493m).

“Even though I finished second, I felt like I was never really in it to win there. Scottie was just so far ahead,” said Theegala, who, despite being winless on the season, ranks third on the PGA Tour’s money list.

Wyndham Clark (65) and Patrick Cantlay (68) tied for third on 15 under.

1. Nelly Korda wins her fifth consecutive tournament. You’re on a heater, as well. What has impressed you about her run?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Well, I actually was checking the scores this afternoon when we were in the rain delay, and she finished I think T16 in her first event this year, and the other five she’s won.

I don’t know if I can quite relate to that. That’s some pretty serious golf. I’m extremely happy for her and proud of her. That’s some pretty special stuff. It’s been a treat to watch.

2. This was a disjointed day with the weather coming in. How were you able to keep your emotions in check?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, just tried to do my best to do that. Relaxed for a while this afternoon. We got pretty soaked. We were getting in after the first delay. But yeah, stayed patient, found a place to relax in the clubhouse, hung out, and just tried to stay ready to play for most of today.

3. The chip-in on 2, just describe that shot.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I hit a really good shot into the green on 2, and I felt like it was unfortunate to end up in that spot back there over the green. But was able to hit a nice little bump-and-run in there. It was nice, coming in at the right speed, and I was happy to get the ball up-and-down but definitely fortunate to see it going in.
