On Sunday at Waialae Country Club, Hideki Matsuyama produced a bogey-free 63 and then beat Russell Henley in a playoff to claim victory at the 2022 Sony Open.
Matsuyama’s final day at the famed oceanside course included seven birdies and 10 pars in regulation, followed by a victory-clinching eagle in overtime.
The 29-year-old Japanese star secured his eighth career PGA Tour title playing a (mostly) full bag of Srixon/Cleveland gear, including a Srixon ZX7 driver and Srixon Z-Star XV golf ball.
