On Sunday at The Country Club, Matt Fitzpatrick produced a final-round 68 to claim a one-shot victory at the 2022 U.S. Open.
Fitzpatrick’s final day in Boston included three bogeys against five birdies en route to a four-day total of 6-under par, one clear of runners-up Will Zalatoris (69) and Scottie Scheffler (67).
It was the 27-year-old Englishman’s eighth career European Tour victory and first major.
The Northwestern product secured his maiden major title, playing a mixed bag of Titleist and Ping gear, including a Titleist TSi3 driver, PING irons and a Pro V1x golf ball.
