Jon Rahm posted a final-round 67 on Sunday at Torrey Pines Golf Course to claim his maiden major title at the 121st U.S. Open.
The 26-year old Spaniard signed for a final-day card comprised of 12 pars, one bogey and five birdies en route to a 6-under par total, one ahead of South African Louis Oosthuizen (71).
The win earned Rahm $2,250,000 and 600 FedExCup points, which moves him to No. 2 in the FedExCup standings, and No. 1 on the money list.
Rahm also scored 100 Official World Golf Rankings points which will move him to No. 1, knocking Dustin Johnson from the top spot.
Runner-up Oosthuizen took home a check for $1,350,000 along with 330 FedExCup points, and 60 OWGR points – essentially the same as PGA Tour win.
