Collin Morikawa will return to defend his 2023 title. He will be joined by marquee players such as Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa and Hideki Matsuyama, who won here in 2021.

History: ZOZO Championship
The five-year old ZOZO Championship may lack a deep history but its five champions include the game’s most iconic star in Tiger Woods; Japan’s only major winner in Hideki Matsuyama; American Ryder Cup stars Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay; and U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley.

The ZOZO Championship was initially inserted into the PGA Tour’s wrap-around portion of its 2019-20 schedule. It essentially filled the void of the former CIMB Classic as one of three stops on the Asian Swing.
Making its debut at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan, the event was moved to California for one year during the height of the COVID scare. It made its return to Japanese soil in 2021.
In addition to the inaugural ZOZO Championship, Narashino Country Club has hosted several notable golf tournaments over the course of its history, most notably the 1972 Japan Airlines Open with Gary Player taking home the prize. Other notable golfers victorious at Narashino include Graham Marsh, Seve Ballesteros, and most recently Woods.
The tournament is co-sanctioned by the Japan Golf Tour and the PGA Tour and has been sponsored by ZOZO, a Japanese clothing brand, since the event’s inception in 2019.
