America’s COVID-19 Hysteria Died at the PGA Championship on Kiawah Island

The PGA Championship’s raucous crowds at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course were said to be 10,000 max per round. Yet on Sunday, with most of them compressed and following the final group of Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka, they looked closer to 20,000, visually.

They were energetic, boisterous… and mask-less.

Watching the tournament, from start to finish – including about 10 hours on Sunday, I may have spotted a handful of fans wearing masks throughout the weekend.

Even more enjoyable was observing the media prance around all masked up, thinking their theatrics would help continue the COVID frenzy.

It failed spectacularly.

So while Phil Mickelson was the big winner on Sunday, Americans triumphed as well.

The COVID madness is over.

The tyrants, who used a far-less-than-deadly virus to enact third-world authoritarian policies and edicts, now look like tinpot emperors without clothes.

Imagine watching that scene unfold on TV and then saying with a straight face, “We’re still in a pandemic. Put your mask on. Get vaccinated.”

Sure. Uh-huh.

The virus itself may have been real. The overhyping and leveraging of it for political gain, though, was an absolute sham.

It’s now over.

It died at Kiawah Island on the weekend of May 22-23, 2021.

Thank you, South Carolina!

  1. I live about 20 miles east of Charleston, which is just north of Kiawah. We still have some people masking up but fewer and fewer each week, especially for outdoor events. It’s wonderful! I’m glad we could help kill the hype especially after the PGA rules for the event required social distancing among fans (like that was going to happen) and encouraged wearing of masks. LOL, honestly, people are DONE with that.
  2. Not so fast…the pandemic will not be over until Sleepy Joe and the Democrats and the media say it’s over. Don’t you realize that?
And man o man you can count on their squeezing every last bit of power out of it.
  3. Great piece, and 100% accurate. We allowed this nation, one based upon the innate RIGHTS of the individual, to be brought to its knees by a handful of political tyrants, over a cold virus that had a 99.8% recovery rate, and in almost every case, only affected a tiny number of poor souls who were already on their way out.

Kiawah Island, proved them all wrong.

Phil Mickelson — I love you man!

  4. The U.S. Open is next month at Torrey Pines in Cali. They will most def enforce masks so it should make for an interesting contrast – a free red state vs a slave blue state.
  5. It was similar this weekend at the Indy 500 qualifications. Only a few masked, everyone else full faced…except for drivers and pit crews. Sadly organizations are slow to see the truth.
    • Yeah. I know a couple photographers who string for Getty. They are forced to muzzle up by corporate. They hate wearing them especially now where they look like dupes.
