Brittany Lincicome took home the first LPGA Tour title of the year at the Pure Silk Bahamas, by beating Lexi Thompson in a playoff.
Thompson entered the final round tied with fellow U.S. Olympian Stacy Lewis at 23-under and atop the leaderboard. Gerina Piller, the other American Olympian, was only 1-back at 22-under, with Linimcome rounding out the top-4 at 21-under.
It was Lincicome, however, the only non-Olympian of the bunch, who played the best on Sunday – firing a 5-under 68 to grab a share of the lead with Thompson, and a spot in a playoff.
On the very first playoff hole at the Ocean Club, the par-5 18th, Lincicome won it with a birdie against Thompson’s par.
It is the seventh career win for Liniciome, and her first since the 2015 ANA Inspiration.

The Quote
“This whole off‑season, I swear I putted two and a half hours each day, it seemed like. I was just doing non-stop putting drills just trying to get my confidence up, and it showed here. It’s paying off. I’m going to keep working extremely hard and stay confident.”
