Campillo Keeps Form, Shares Lead at Volvo China Open

Following rounds of 65, Jorge Campillo, David Lipsky and Tapio Pulkkanen share a one-shot lead heading into day two of the Volvo China Open in Shenzhen.

All three finished in the top-10 last week in Morroco, with Campillo winning, Lipsky in 5th-place, and Pulkkanen tying for eighth.

One back, leading the chasing pack, were Ashun Wu, Jin Daxing and John Catlin.

In total, there were some 68 players within five shots of the lead.

Young Star

Yang Kuang, the 14-year old Chinese golf prodigy, posted a 71 on day one and is in the mix to make a second consecutive cut in a professional event. Kuang has teed it up three times on the PGA Tour Series China, making the cut alongside the professionals just two weeks ago at the Haikou Championship.

Long Journey

Wade Ormsby made his 300th European Tour start when he teed off today at the Volvo China Open. The Aussie is the epitome of a journeyman. He won for the first time last year in Hong Kong on his 264th start.

Superb Save

On the 11th hole, Campillo hit a very poor tee shot, but recovered nicely, aided by a lengthy putt to finish with a fantastic par-4.
