Jack: “Not a Better Player Right Now in the Game Than Brooks Koepka”

Of the last six majors Brooks Koepka has entered, he’s won half (3) of them (he missed the Masters due to an injured wrist). So it’s hard to argue with the great Jack Nicklaus when he claims that the Florida State product is “probably” the best player on the planet at the moment.

“Brooks sort of came in a little different way. I mean he played at Florida State, but then he went overseas and played,” said Nicklaus in a video posted by Golf.com.

“Then he came here, and started playing the U.S. He didn’t catch on fire, but he kept getting better each year. And then last year he won the U.S. Open, and this year he backed up the U.S. Open, and then backed it up with a PGA Championship. That’s pretty good.

“Three major championships, and then coming off of an injury this year – you know, I don’t think he’s gotten the credit he deserves. I think he’ll get it now, because there’s probably not a better player right now in the game in the U.S. than Brooks Koepka.

“Everything he gets now he deserves – he’s earned.”
