Jordan Spieth entered the final round of the AT&T Byron Nelson off his best 54-hole performance of the season, which included his first three-straight sub-70 rounds (68-67-67) of 2019.
But a final-round 71 saw Spieth leave Dallas with the same questions that have surrounded the former world No. 1 for the better part of a year.
At 11-under par, Spieth left Trinity Forest Golf Club tied for 29th. On the season, he’s yet to record a top-20, and it’s 10 months and counting since his last top-10.
To say he’s in questionable form heading into Bethpage Black for the PGA Championship would be an understatement.
Asked about this chances for next week in New York, Spieth said, “I feel like my game is ready to contend. Just a matter of getting there and getting in the same group.”
