Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, winners of the final two majors of the 2017 season, are also the two most recent champions at Kapalua, so it’s not a huge surprise to see the young stars listed as the co-favorites at this week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions.
The 24-year old “best friends” have been given 6/1 odds to lift the T of C trophy on Sunday night. World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, and recent Hero winner Rickie Fowler are right behind the top duo at 7/1.
Another major winner from 2017, Brooks Koepka, is at 11/1, just edging Hideki Matsuyama and Jon Rahm, who are offered up at 12/1.
Nobody else in the field has better than 20/1 odds.
Our payoff pick is Patrick Cantlay at 22/1. The former amateur star capped off a terrific comeback year with his maiden Tour title at the Shriners, and has not finished outside the top 20 in his last five starts.
