Moving day has finished up at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba with Gary Woodland (-18) maintaining one shot lead over Pat Perez (-17). Scott Piercy is alone in 3rd at 16-under.
PGA Tour rookie Seamus Power took advantage of moving day after firing a 7-under 64 to move into solo 4th at 15-under. Rounding out the top 5 is Webb Simpson, who sits 4 shots back of the lead at 14-under.
Most Surprising Round of The Day
Pat Perez, who had to play in the Web.Com Finals to get his PGA Tour card back, made 5 birdies and an eagle to make the turn at 29. Perez bogeyed the 10th hole to slow his roll a bit, then birdies at the 13th, 14th and 17th capped his day off.
Perez carded a 9-under 62 to move 9 spots up the leaderboard into solo 2nd.
Worst Round of The Day
Mexico native, Carlos Ortiz, struggled on a day where scoring was excellent. Ortiz opened his day with 3 bogeys, however, birdie at the 4th and eagle at the 5th got him back to level par.
Unfortunately, Ortiz couldn’t find his stride on the back nine after going out in 4-over.
Biggest Jump
J.T. Poston and John Peterson both carded 7-under 64s to jump up the leaderboard 35 spots into T24. Peterson and Poston both find themselves 9 shots back of Woodland’s lead before the final round at Mayakoba.
