Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Tyrrell Hatton, and Rory McIlroy are all world-class golfers, but on Thursday at TPC Sawgrass their collective scorecards looked no different than that of a beer league foursome.
The four European Ryder Cuppers combined for a 29-over par 317.
Stenson led the way with a 13-over 85, which included two triples and two doubles, while Rory’s (79) scorecard featured a quadruple bogey on the par-4 18th hole.
Poulter and Hatton were 5- and 4-over par, respectively.
Sitting in the player’s lounge at Sawgrass, Poulter decided to lighten things up and fire up some content.
He posted to IG and Twitter, “One of those days, combined table score of +29…comment your 4 ball that can relate.”
In the video, Poulter says, “We got a hell of a lunch table here. Players lounge. [Tyrrell Hatton] just decided to sit down and join Rory and I.
“So collectively, four people sitting at this table – myself, Rory, Henrik – he’s just left, and Tyrrell – 29-over!
“What a bunch of muppets.”
