Jason Day birdied hole number one, and then played even par golf the rest of the way during the third round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone CC. But the world’s #1-ranked golfer still finds himself tied at the top of the leaderboard, at 5-under par, heading into Sunday’s final round.

Scott Piercy, who shot a 3-under 67 on the day, is also at -5, and will be paired with Day in Sunday’s final round.
Sweden’s David Lingmerth (-4) started the day one back of the lead, and ended the day in the same spot – down one.
Dustin Johnson was the big mover. The U.S. Open champ fired a 4-under par 66 and finds himself tied for fifth at 2-under, only 3 shots back of the lead.

Spieth Update: Jordan Spieth was 3-under through 14, but then triple-bogeyed (8) the par-5 16th. The world No. 2 went birdie-bogey over the final two to finish at 1-over for the day and even- par for the tournament.
Best Round: Johnson’s 4-under 66 was the best of the day.
Worst Round: Steven Bowditch carded a 10-over 80, his second 80 or above score of the weekend. Bowditch is at 24-over for the tournament.
