The iconic 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course got a makeover this season, swapping out the dark green backboards (or scrims) with bright white ones.
In this video, Tournament Chairman, Carlos Sugich, doesn’t reveal why they swapped out the colors, but says, “Even though we wanted to make it bigger, we couldn’t so we changed its look, and as you can see the white scrim is looking pretty awesome.” (Not really!)

Maybe it’ll take some getting used to, but the dark green color definitely conveyed a more enclosed stadium look – think Camden Yards or Safeco Park, while the white gives off the vibe of a generic corporate tent. Thumbs down!
