After three rounds at The American Express, Sepp Straka from Austria has taken the lead with an impressive score of -23.

Straka’s 8-under 64 on Saturday, highlighted by six birdies on his final eight holes, puts him four strokes clear of Justin Lower (68), Jason Day (66) and Charley Hoffman (63) who were tied for second on 19 under.

Straka’s lead is significant as he heads into the final round at the Stadium Course, where he’ll aim to maintain his momentum and clinch the victory.

“Yeah, it was very different. Honestly, off the tee it’s a little more, I guess, a little tighter,” said Straka. “It’s not as much penalty areas out here as there is at Stadium, but you still have to drive it really well.

“I did that great today. Iron play was not as good today as yesterday, had to make a lot of putts, fortunately the putter was really hot, especially early in the round.”

Patrick Cantlay (64) and Mark Hubbard (69) share the fifth spot at -18, while Justin Thomas (68) was -17.
