Thomas Pieters is one of the biggest bombers on the European Tour. But even by his standards, this tee shot on the 7th hole at St Andrews during play of the Dunhill Links Championship was insanely long.
Of course, playing at a true links course like St Andrews, in weather that requires winter gear, means the fairways are probably about as soft as concrete.
A good indication of the St Andrews weather today. Brandon Stone well wrapped up for his round on the #OldCourse @dunhilllinks. pic.twitter.com/YDjRyzk5Cg

The dead giveaway is when the announcer says, “he doesn’t have to kill it” (to reach a 407 yard green!?). So clearly Pieters was aided by some serious roll. Like about 100 yards of it.
Huge. @Thomas_Pieters just drove the 407 yard 7th hole.

For the season, Pieters averaged 301 yards off the tee.
