The random draw for the 16 groups of the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play took place last night on the Golf Channel. It was hyped as the Bracket Challenge, and it was a big to-do for the PGA Tour’s grand poobahs.
The pre-tournament event brought together some of the greatest Texan golfers, including Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, and of course Jordan Spieth.
The tournament begins Wednesday morning at Austin Country Club (first tee time is 9:30 AM ET – Branden Grace vs Andy Sullivan). Each player plays in three matches in group-play, with the group winner (best record) moving on to single-elimination round of 16, starting Saturday morning.

Note: The players are ranked according to their world ranking position in the field – not their current world ranking (e.g. Jordan Spieth is ranked No 6 in world, but because Henrik Stenson (World No 5) is not playing, Spieth is ranked No 5 in the field).
