LIV Golf today announced that Abraham Ancer has officially signed with the breakaway tour and will tee it up at the LIV Golf Portland Invitational.

The second event of LIV Golf’s inaugural season gets underway on June 30 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Oregon.

Recognized as the world’s top Mexican golfer, Ancer owns three pro tour victories, including the PGA Tour’s flagship FedEx St Jude Championship, the tour’s opening leg of its high stakes playoffs.

Ancer has finished the past two years ranked inside the top 25, with a high of No. 11. He’s represented Mexico in the 2018 World Cup, 2019 Presidents Cup and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

“Abraham Ancer has been a rising star who’s established himself as one of the world’s top golfers in a very short period of time. He is a consistent contender which continues to elevate our competition,” said Greg Norman, LIV Golf CEO and Commissioner.

“Abraham’s global reach and star power in Mexico and Latin America makes him a great fit for LIV Golf, which is committed to growing the sport on a global scale, particularly in new and emerging markets. We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to having him in the field in Portland and beyond.”

LIV Golf is expected to announce more player signings in the coming days.
