Justin Thomas got off to a hot start this morning at Royal Troon as the Open Championship teed off for the 145th time. Thomas fired a 4-under 67 in his first (British) Open appearance and is currently one off the lead.
The secret to his quick start may have something to do with Thomas renting a house this week with Rickie Fowler (of course), Jason Dufner, Jimmy Walker, Jordan Spieth, and defending champ Zach Johnson.
For all the nerves and anticipation that come on the eve of a major championship, this group didn’t seem to show it, and clearly it’s been a good thing for Thomas so far.
Here’s a tweet from last night proving you “never get too old for backyard baseball.”

Dufner may not be able to keep up with the younger kids anymore as “Dufnering” appears to be back.
