Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn teamed up for bookend 59s to claim victory at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational.

Starting the day two shots off the lead, the Thai sisters posted a Saturday 59 to reach 24-under par to earn the title at the LPGA Tour team event.

“We had a pretty good momentum at the start,” said Moriya. “It’s just more like supporting, just I said over and over again, and of course I had a great support from my sister this week.

“No matter what, like she probably hit a few trees out there, but she still make a lot of birdies for me, so I forgive her.

“We very enjoy it.”

The Jutanugarns also posted a 59 on Thursday, the first day of the four-ball format. They were the only team to shoot sub-60 in this year’s tournament, and did it twice.

For Moriya, it was her second career LPGA title – her maiden coming at the 2018 L.A. Open, while Ariya gets her second W of 2021, joining World No. 1 Nelly Korda as the only multiple winners on the season. For her career, she now has an even dozen (12) LPGA titles.

Defending champions Cydney Clanton and Jasmine Suwannapura finished solo second on 21 under following a final-round 64. The team combined for seven birdies and just one bogey.
