Bernhard Langer fired a bogey-free 6-under 66 on Saturday at Caves Valley Golf Club and will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Constellation Senior PLAYERS Championship.
The 59-year-old German star collected six birdies, three on each side, to finish at 18-under.
“You’ve got 18 holes left, and Brandt is playing well and I’m sure some of the other guys that are up there are playing well, too, so I still need to go low tomorrow,” Langer said, who will be seeking his fourth straight Senior PLAYERS title on Sunday.
One back of Langer is Brandt Jobe (65), who held the lead until a couple of late bogeys on 16 and 17 dropped him to second at 17-under.
“Just a stupid mistake on 16, and I kind of carried that over to 17,” Jobe said afterwards.
Corey Pavin (71) and Scott McCarron (69) are tied for third, but six shots back at 12-under. Miguel Jimenez shot 67 and sits at 10-under, alone in fifth.

Quotable
“You want to continuously play well, make very few mistakes. So the other opponents know that you’re not going to come back towards them, they need to catch up or they need to play well to be at that level. That’s my goal. I don’t always achieve it, but so far, so good. I’m very happy with 18 under after three rounds.”
