Jon Rahm and Ryan Palmer teamed up for a final-round 69 to claim victory at the 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Rahm and Palmer entered Sunday’s finale at TPC Louisiana with a share of the lead alongside Trey Mullinax and Scott Stallings, but after the first hole (a bogey by Mullinax/Stallings) it was their tournament to lose.
For the day, the duo carded four birdies, including three in a five-hole stretch to reach 26-under par which sealed a three-shot victory .
It was the third career win for the 24-year old superstar Rahm, and the fourth title for the 42-year old veteran Palmer – but his first in over nine years. The victory was far more important to Palmer, especially at this stage of his career, as it comes with a two-year PGA Tour exemption, all the way through the 2021 season.
