Ahead of the Dubai Desert Classic, Patrick Reed, who kicked Rory McIlroy‘s butt in 2016 at the Ryder Cup and again in 2018 at the Masters, walked over to the little bigmouth, and offered a handshake.
McIlroy, a walking, talking smear machine who loves to trash LIV plyaers to the media, reportedly dummied up when confronted by Reed – pretending he was working with his trackman.
McIlroy said, “Patrick came up to say hello, and I didn’t really want him to.” Translation: he was too chicken shit to mouth off like he does when the far-left media sticks a mic in his face.
Reed explained: “Rory just looked down there and was messing with his Trackman and kind of decided to ignore us.”
After being ignored, Reed walked away and tossed his LIV Golf tee in the direction of McIlroy.
“We all knew where it came from — being part of LIV. Since my tees are Team Aces LIV tees, I flicked him one,” said Reed.
“It was kind of a funny shot back. Funny how a small little flick has turned into basically me stabbing him and throwing a tee at him.
“He saw me, and he decided not to react. It’s unfortunate because we’ve always had a good relationship. … But it’s one of those things, if you’re going to act like an immature little child, then you might as well be treated like one.”
McIlroy was later asked whether he had interest trying to repair his relationship with LIV’s Sergio Garcia, if it would help Team Europe ahead of this year’s Ryder Cup matches.
“No,” said the phony world No. 1, who hasn’t won a major in nearly ten years.
