Looking for a different liquid supplement for this summer’s heat on the golf course? Consider, BIOLYTE, which claims to be the world’s first liquid supplement to offer the same benefits of IV rehydration therapy, but in a drinkable form that features three flavors.

Drinking just one bottle of BIOLYTE, according to the company, is the equivalent to consuming seven and one-half sports drinks, but with one-third the sugar, and only 40 calories. The beverage contains the same amount of electrolytes included in a standard IV bag.

“Golfers oftentimes forget how easy it is to become dehydrated while playing,” said Dr. Luther Rollins, a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Specialist practicing in Atlanta who created BIOLYTE.

“Being on the golf course for four to five hours can significantly decrease your electrolyte levels, which can lead to fatigue, nausea, and sluggishness. BIOLYTE is a perfect solution for preventing these symptoms of dehydration, and providing golfers with natural energy to remain energized throughout their entire round.”

According to Rollins, BIOLYTE works similar to an IV bag in that it utilizes two distinct kinds of salts that are vital for rapid dehydration support: Sodium Chloride and Potassium Chloride.

The function of each electrolyte salt is to slow down the loss of water in your body, thus maintaining your body’s hydration process more effectively than plain water.

The premium blend is enhanced with a mixture of essential B3, B5, B6 and B12 vitamins and L-Carnitine, a natural amino acid that helps boost energy levels and supports healthy brain function and muscle movement.

BIOLYTE also contains Ginger Root, which can help with nausea and cramping, as well as Milk Thistle, Gluconolactone, and N-Acetyl to support healthy liver function.

The company recently partnered with the Southeast AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) as the preferred hydration drink, and its three flavors – Citrus, Tropical and Berry – will be available at 40 AJGA tournaments in Florida, Texas, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Arizona.

It also recently announced partnerships with a number of PGA Sections in the South and Southeast as it expands its presence in golf and becomes available in more markets and states.

Currently, BIOLYTE can be found in major grocery chains such as Publix and Krogers, as well as online at Amazon.

  1. I see BioLyte has “Milk Thistle”.  I am lactose intolerant. Will this affect my digestive system.  I’m 74, 5’10” and weigh 166.  Live in FLA so hot and humid is the standard.  Also play pickleball 4x a week.  Currently use gatorade and Propel for electrolytes.  For both about 24 oz of each plus some plan water as well.
