In these days of people claiming to be more concerned than ever about what is going into their bodies, the issue of trust is equally as important as what ingredients are in the products themselves. That is particularly true in the world of CBD products.
Yes, it’s a world that is growing, but it’s also a world filled with misinformation.
Not so with Altwell CBD products. Altwell has a trusted background and heritage in sports nutrition through the Pickett family, who founded the company in 2018. For the uninitiated in the nutrition world, the father/son team on Greg and Mike Pickett in 1998 founded CytoSport, manufacturer of wildly popular Muscle Milk products.
“They wanted to bring that same level of trust into the world of CBD,” said Shane McCassy, Altwell’s president and CEO.
Mission accomplished.
Each of Altwell’s CBD products, which range from gummies to sports balm to protein powder and sports stick, works as advertised – and is up front about the ingredients. Even CBD skeptics (myself included) have come to make Altwell products part of their daily routines.
“People are really still learning and embracing what CBD can do for them,” McCassy said. “Studies have shown that many products don’t have the amount of CBD (cannabidiol) as shown on the package. We use a third-party lab to test each of our products, so you know you’re really getting what it says on the package.
“There can be a lot of noise. We want to make it as simple as possible.”
Indeed. Follow the instructions and there is nothing complicated about using Altwell’s CBD products. My favorites? The Balance Gummies, ideal for relieving stress. Take one a few minutes before heading to the first tee, for example, and those “breakfast ball” jitters go away.
The Sports Balm helps relieve aching muscles, is easy to apply; the Protein Powder delivers exactly the way you expect from the founders of Muscle Milk. One glass per day (mixed with milk or water) acts as a terrific snack substitute. For people like me – who don’t do breakfast – an early morning glass of Altwell CBD Protein Powder (chocolate or vanilla) is a good way to start the day.
And for those looking to end the day and get a good night’s sleep, don’t pass on the Restful Sleep gummies.
Regardless of the Altwell CBD product you choose, it should be noted CBD has a cumulative effect, so the longer and more consistently you take it, the more you’ll get from the experience. And for those new to CBD, McCassy suggested starting with a low dose and taking that consistently for several days to see how your body responds. From there, you can begin to adjust slowly.
Altwell has a faithful online following and is beginning to venture outside of its Northern California roots and into more retail stores and even golf pro shops. For example, Altwell’s CBD products are in the pro shop at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, NV.
“Our users skew to people who are more active or trying to be more active,’’ McCassy said. “But our products work for everybody. As a whole, people interested in CBD feel better, perform better and recover faster.”
It’s just a matter of trust.
