Last week, the PGA Tour revealed a number of changes to its schedule for 2024. And let’s just say they sound awfully familiar.
The highlights are this: elevated-purses, limited fields and no cuts — essentially copying the format of the LIV Golf League, which has been smeared for a year by the tour’s media allies.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan described the changes as “substantial, can’t-miss tournaments.”
LIV Golf players Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood couldn’t resist:
Westwood and Poulter each noted the lies of the PGA Tour’s “grow the game” narrative, relative to its phony strategic alliance with the DP World Tour.
So.. Do away with the WGC’s. Load the OWGR in your favour. Create 10 limited field events for just PGA tour members(like WGC’s). Add to that 4 majors,Players,FedEx cup. That’s a full schedule for a top player. That’s growing the game?. What Strategic Alliance?

I left school at 15 and can work out what a good deal is ? @PGATOUR guaranteeing a rise in prize funds of 2% a year over the next 5 years to @DPWorldTour. To then raise their own by 30% and take ET best 10 players. I watched enough of #sharktank to know how this deal is. ??♂️ https://t.co/KaW0bHOPqh

They also laughed at Golf Channel’s head clown: one-time tour winner Brandy Champagne, who’s suddenly against cuts after being for cuts over the past year.

I think he is called a “hypocrite” I knew they’d soon back pedal and try to steer and forget what they once said. No surprises. Next up @eamonlynch ⬅️??♂️ although he will articulate it and turn it to sound very clever as normal. @chambleebrandel https://t.co/GiW858xjod
