The LPGA Tour will take a six-hour flight from Western Australia to Thailand for this for this week’s Honda LPGA Thailand, where Amy Yang returns to defend her 2017 title.
In addition to Yang, the field at Siam Country Club’s Old Course also includes two other recent Honda winners in Lexi Thompson (2016) and Anna Nordqvist (2014).

HISTORY
The Honda LPGA Thailand was first contested in 2006 at the Amata Spring Country Club with Hee-Won Han taking home the inaugural trophy and $195,000 prize.
The following year, the tournament moved to its current home at the Siam Country Club, on its Pattaya Old Course. It became the first LPGA Tour event held in Thailand, increasing the number of countries at the time to eight (now 14).
The tournament was not held in 2008, due to a date change from the fall (October) to early winter (February). In 2009, with its new February slot, it was held at the newer Plantation Course, but then returned to the Old Course in 2010.
The title sponsor has always been Honda, a Japanese-based manufacturer of automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles.
