Weather Cuts Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic to 36 Holes

The LPGA Tour has shortened the 2018 Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic to 36 holes. The first round was suspended on Thursday but due to severe storm conditions, and all scores were cancelled.

With the storms continuing, the opening round didn’t get restarted until 3:30 p.m. on Friday, and only 12 of 144 players completed their round.

The officials will now try to complete 36 holes by Sunday to ensure an official event.

The first round will resume Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. With storms expected on and off all weekend, if 36 holes are not completed by Sunday evening, a Monday finish will be attemtped.
