Patty Tavatanakit struggled to a 76 on day one of the Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open and was a longshot to make the cut. The Thai star would need to shoot about 10 strokes better to make the cut in Scotland.
Well, she did just that, firing a 66 to make the weekend by a stroke. Afterwards, during a press scrum, Tavatanakit was overcome with emotions trying to describe her feelings.
“I’ve just been going through so much in life right now and I feel like to be able to do that today it just goes to show that you know this is my job, my career, like doing it,” said an emotional Tavatanakit.
“I don’t know what I did out there. It was pretty amazing. I mean to come back and to even feel like I was gonna to do that this morning – but you know it’s in me and I found it today. So really glad I was able to that.”
