The 2019 Masters tournament marks 30 years since Nick Faldo became the first English player to put their arm in a Green Jacket in 1989.

This would be the first of three victories around the hallow turf of Augusta National, after he defended his title in 1990 before making it a trio of wins in 1996.

However, it isn’t easy winning the year’s first Major.

“To come and win in America is harder,” Faldo told the New York Times. “It’s an away game every week over here. This one was far more a battle of emotions for me than the British Open (1987) because of the way I played.”
