Keegan Bradley shot a tournament-low 62 on Saturday to reach 12-under par, and sit just two shots off the pace of 54-hole leader Bryson DeChambeau.
Bradley, who last won in 2012 at the WGC-Bridgestone, got off to a torrid start on day three at The Ridgewood Country Club, scoring a hat trick out of the gate (Nos. 1-3), and adding a fourth on the 7th to turn in 4-under 31. After three more gains on Nos. 12, 13 and 14, Bradley closed with two-straight birdies to sign for a 9-under 62 and a three day score of 12 under.
“I hit a bunch of shots really close early on, and then I made some putts coming down the end but that one on 18 felt good. That hole’s tough,” said Bradley.
“I know I’m most likely going to be a few shots back with how these guys are playing, so I knew coming down the end, that these birdies are going to be big come tomorrow.
“So I think those last two are going to really help.”
The 62 was Bradley’s third 64 or better in his last 10 rounds. (He shot 63 and 64 in rounds two and four, respectively, at the RBC Canadian Open, where he finished solo-fourth.)
